SYDNEY BOAT SHOW SALES KEEP MARITIMO MOMENTUM ON TRACK

Australian luxury motor yacht manufacturer, Maritimo, has recorded strong sales results and interest at the Sydney International Boat Show and had dealer partners from around the world in attendance as part of its international expansion roll-out.

The Gold Coast based company had the world launch of the largest single level cruiser it has ever built, the S70 cruising motor yacht, and also revealed for the first time the innovative design of its X60 sports yacht which will be completed early in 2018. The X60 has had an extremely promising start with five vessels pre-ordered and numerous other contracts in the pipeline. Interest in this unique boat has been international. In addition, Maritimo’s S59 and M59 sedan and flybridge models, both released earlier this year, were on display in Sydney and attracted considerable interest.

Maritimo CEO Garth Corbitt said the Maritimo Sydney show was one of the strongest ever with buyer interest from all the major Australian States and New Zealand.

“For reasons of commercial in-confidence we do not talk specific numbers but needless to say there was a lot of interest across the range of models we were highlighting in Sydney and the S70 in particular was a show stopper,” he said. “We have finalised multi-million dollar deals and continue to talk to visitors at our display. I am confident further sales will result”.

“There was Maritimo buyer interest from West Australia, South Australia, NSW naturally and also from Queensland. The beamy S59 and M59’s both drew a lot of attention as they are big volume vessels with five star accommodation and flexible cabin layouts.”

Corbitt said Maritimo’s main USA dealer partner, Galati Yacht Sales, sent six of its sales team to the Maritimo display in Sydney show to help them become more familiar with the new models and to understand the key points of difference of the range. They were taken on extensive sea trials aboard the new vessels after the show and will also spend time at Maritimo’s Gold Coast manufacturing facility before returning home.

“Galati is ramping up its operation in the USA to promote Maritimo and is totally committed to increasing the network of dealers representing our brand,” said Corbitt.

In addition to the Galati contingent, Compass Point Yacht’s  President,  Bill King, was also in attendance with Maritimo at the Sydney show.

“We have been working with Bill on a serious push into the west coast region of the USA and I’m pleased to say we are gaining traction there and also in Canada,” said Corbitt. “It is all about raising awareness of the brand on an international level with consistently high standards of presentation, product knowledge and customer service.”

“We are starting to see dividends from years of hard work, both in the USA and with Craig Harvey and the SpencerShip team in Monaco, Europe. Craig and his team have recorded multiple sales in the territories they represent and they have a growing order book,” said Corbitt.

Maritimo’s International Sales and Marketing Manager, Greg Haines, has just returned from a three week roadshow in the USA where he worked with dealer partners and their customers to highlight the new models and promote the brand.

A Maritimo Muster involving numerous boats to Poet’s Cove, in British Columbia, was highly successful,  according to Haines. He said interest in existing and new models was extremely strong with the X60 and both the S59 and M59 all in hot demand.

“The next big push for us is the Seattle Boat Show in September and we are working with Bill King of Compass Point Yachts and the team from Silver Seas Yachts to have a significant presence at that event,” he said. “Similarly the Cannes Boat Show with Craig Harvey and his team will be important for us.”

Corbitt said approximately 50 percent of the company’s production went to international markets, namely the USA and Europe.

Haines said Maritimo enjoyed a very strong Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May and the Sydney show saw that momentum continuing.
