MARITIMO STEPS UP INTERNATIONAL OUTREACH WITH NEW APPOINTMENT

Maritimo has reinvigorated it’s sales and marketing initiatives in the Americas, Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico and the Caribbean as part of its international strategic expansion and brand awareness enhancement.

Maritimo has engaged one of the most successful and experienced boating sector operatives in the USA, Dave Northrop, to head up the new sales structure across all these territories. For Northrop it is a return to the Maritimo fold having represented the company in the USA previously for 10 years.

“This appointment is an exciting step forward for ourselves and for Dave as we believe our collective efforts will greatly enhance our ability to capitalise on customer and product opportunities and create a solid foundation for further growth in these major markets,” said Maritimo CEO Garth Corbitt.

Maritimo currently exports approximately 50 percent of its production capacity to the USA and Northrop’s appointment to boost international marketing efforts comes at a time when the company is enjoying tremendous success with its recently released revolutionary sport yacht range, the X Series.

The X 60, revealed at the recent Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, has already sold well into the US market and is tipped to enjoy broad appeal there when its exposure is ramped up as part of the new sales and marketing structure.

Corbitt said Maritimo is extremely confident Northrop is the right person with the right ability, knowledge and experience to see the company’s goals come to fruition.

“As a company we are delighted to have him back in the fold and we look forward to the future journey with him,” he said. “Dave has an extremely successful track record of introducing and establishing new boat brands in the Americas and other markets. ” His ability to significantly increase product presence and organic growth in sales through strategic marketing initiatives is well documented.”

Dave Northrop, who will be dividing his time between Michigan and Fort Lauderdale, said he was excited to be back with Maritimo and operating in an expanded role.

“Maritimo has reached new heights in recent times with its highly revolutionary X series sport yacht range and its new generation M and S series motor yachts so I believe the time is just right to mount this international marketing charge,” he said. “The conditions for success are perfect, the product offering is the best it has ever been and the company and brand has a significant awareness and foundation that we can build on moving forward.”

“The team in Australia is dedicated and focused, the level of research and development that is going into each new model is jaw dropping and under the stewardship of owner Bill Barry-Cotter and CEO Garth Corbitt the future for the company has never looked brighter. We are on the cusp of great things and I am grateful to be part of that.”
