Maritimo 75 – Standing apart in the global 70-Foot market

Maritimo’s 75-foot M75 and S75 represent a distinctly Australian interpretation of how large luxury motor yachts should look, behave, and come equipped ready to take their owners to the best of places. Whereas some manufacturers might prioritise dramatic styling and short-range performance, Maritimo focuses on practicality, durability and genuine cruising capability.

The enclosed flybridge M75 and stylishly sleek sedan S75 luxury motor yachts by Maritimo are designed not just to look impressive in a marina, but also inspire owners to venture further, and stay longer. The vessels are a mastery of not just style, but also refinement. A distinct step up from the voluminous 60-footers Maritimo is famous for, the flagships are surprisingly, and genuinely so, so easy to manage.

Maritimo S75

In the Southern Hemisphere, nearly all of these vessels are owner/operated. Many Maritimo Skippers have commented that any initial concerns about handling a vessel of this size were quickly allayed, and now would not swap their Maritimo 75 for anything else. They are not just expansive and luxurious penthouses with ever changing views, they make their owners feel totally at home whether they are at the helm, or with their feet hanging over the edge of the swim platform soaking in the water.

The inline shaft-drive propulsion with shallow shaft angle, massive fuel capacity, genuine long-range efficiency, blue water hull design, and peaceful liveaboard ergonomics combine to create yachts that are comfortable travelling hundreds, or even thousands of miles between destinations.

For owners exploring the Bahamas, cruising Australia’s East Coast, island-hopping through the Pacific, or venturing along either of the US coastlines, these attributes all matter. High efficiency to take you places on the one tank and stay there longer when you get there, along with attention to detail with noise, vibration, and harshness for a soothing trip, mean all the built-in amenity on board can then be used to the fullest.

Add in reliability and dependability, and you have the key ingredients for positively memorable trips.

Offshore Design and Engineering

The M75 and S75 represent decades of Maritimo innovation. If nothing else, they embody the core philosophy that a luxury motor yacht should be more than an indulgence. The vessel should be a capable and dependable platform for exploration and the making of wonderfully enjoyable memories. Confidence and comfort, both with a capital ‘C’, and all of it designed into the craft from the outset.

Both models measure 23.07 metres (75’ 8”) in length overall, with a beam of approximately six metres (19’ 8”) This places them squarely in the global 70-foot category, whilst delivering interior volume and cruising capability more often associated with much larger yachts. Yet numbers alone do not tell the story.

A sharp bow entry allows the hull to slice cleanly through head seas, whilst the geometry progressively flattens aft to increase lift and cruising efficiency. A significant flare and reverse chines add to seakeeping and the overall dryness of the vessel underway. Running down the centreline is a deep keel that enhances directional stability and protects the running gear. This is a feature long favoured by serious cruising motor yachts, but increasingly absent in many modern European designs.

Carrying 10,000 litres of fuel on board affords both the M75 and S75 genuine long-range capability, and is substantially more than many yachts in the same category. An efficient hull form allows you to travel further that opens up new cruising grounds, reduces the need for fuel stops, and gives you more time to enjoy your vessel once you get there.

For owners exploring the coastlines such as those of Australia, the United States, and then regions like the Caribbean, or the Pacific Islands, is possible with either the Maritimo M75 or S75, and this is something that many other yachts in the 70-foot class simply cannot match.

Despite their substantial size and luxurious interiors, the M75 and S75 remain performance-oriented vessels. Optional MTU engines producing 1,625hp each take the vessels to a top speed of 30 knots, whilst cruising comfortably in the mid-20-knot range.

They can cruise at around 24 knots, which will equate to around 400 nautical mile range. Then, at around 10 knots this will extend to over 1,500nm, enabling truly ambitious cruising itineraries. This flexibility allows owners to tailor their cruising style, namely running quickly between destinations, or slowing down for extended ocean passages.

Maritimo’s inline shaft-drive arrangement remains a defining point of difference compared with many European competitors that have adopted pod or V-drive propulsion systems. While pods offer manoeuvrability and interior space benefits, they also introduce mechanical complexity and additional underwater components. Straight shafts offer several advantages that align with Maritimo’s long-range philosophy: mechanical simplicity, durability and efficient power transfer. All of which have significant service and maintenance benefits when travelling far and wide.

Combined with the Maritimo’s shallow shaft angles and large five-blade propellers, the setup provides excellent thrust and fuel efficiency. The design also contributes to a lower centre of gravity and mass over the centre of buoyancy, which delivers a stable running attitude that enhances both performance and ride comfort offshore.

Careful engineering attention is given to reducing noise, vibration and harshness throughout the yacht. Engine mounts, structural reinforcement and weight distribution are all designed to create a smooth and quiet ride, allowing owners and guests to enjoy long passages without fatigue.

Together these elements create a motor yacht platform that behaves very differently from many other yachts in the same category. Rather than focusing solely on top speed or dramatic styling, the M75 and S75 are engineered to deliver stability, efficiency and confidence offshore. These are characteristics that truly matter when the journey extends well beyond the marina.

The hull design of both the M75 and S75 reflects Maritimo’s deep roots in offshore boating. Built using the company’s monocoque structural system, the hull and superstructure form an integrated structure designed for strength and rigidity in challenging conditions.

Handling a 75-foot, 55 metric tonne yacht might sound intimidating, but both models have been designed with owner-operators in mind. Advanced thruster systems, joystick controls make docking and manoeuvring significantly easier, whilst gyro stabilisers minimise roll both underway and at anchor.

Both the M75 and S75 are nothing if not versatile, and owners requiring crew can configure the Utility Cabin to accommodate two crew in their own quarters.

Space, Layout and Onboard Living

Ocean prowess is one thing, but the design philosophy of the M75 and S75 extends equally to how these yachts are to be not just lived on when aboard, but marvelled, enjoyed, and deliver on the original premise, of memories like nothing else. Interior comfort is another area where the M75 and S75 distinguish themselves within the international market.

One of the most distinctive features of both models is the expansive cockpit area known as the Adventure Deck. It amounts to some 21m2, creating a versatile outdoor space that rivals those found on much larger yachts. More than simply a cockpit, this space is designed as the social and activity hub of the yacht. A place where owners can entertain guests, launch water toys, prepare meals or simply relax when anchored in a quiet bay.

Integrated storage compartments provide room for dive gear, fishing equipment and water toys, while refrigeration, cooking facilities and seating areas transform the cockpit into a relaxed alfresco environment literally like no other.

This emphasis on practical outdoor space reflects Maritimo’s understanding of how owners actually use their yachts. Rather than treating the cockpit as a secondary area, it becomes central to the cruising experience. As to the extensive Juliet Deck that gives the M75 an entire Penthouse style apartment that can be enclosed, open, or both, and features all the entertainment options you could wish for.

Inside, both craft offer generous interior volume thanks to their generous. The typical accommodation arrangement includes four staterooms accommodating up to eight guests, with the full-beam master suite positioned in the middle and spanning the whole width for maximum stability and comfort. Large hull windows flood the space with natural light while providing panoramic views of the water just beyond the hull. Careful attention to storage, lighting and layout ensures the space functions as a true private retreat for owners during extended voyages.

Throughout the accommodation deck, the emphasis remains on comfort and liveability. Generous headroom, flat, walkaround floors that allow guests to walk alongside the bed for access, along with thoughtfully placed storage, mean these well-proportioned cabins make it just as easy for family and guests to enjoy the total Maritimo luxury.

One glorious tale, two distinct outcomes

As individual as the owners who purchase them. Maritimo’s M75 features the famed enclosed flybridge that the company pioneered in the category over two decades ago, along the aft galley arrangement and distinctive, walkaround decks. In the M75 this space is a marvel, capable of converting from the serious business of covering off many miles to being its own movie theatre, to party central, thanks to the expansive bar, and it is all under cover, and can be totally climate controlled with the inclusion of clears for the outdoor spaces.

Accessed via an internal staircase from the main saloon, the flybridge integrates seamlessly with the rest of the yacht’s interior. Expansive glazing creates a bright, comfortable environment that can be enjoyed in virtually any cruising conditions.

The S75 Sedan Motor Yacht, by contrast, adopts a sleek, sporty, single-level layout that places the helm within the main saloon. This arrangement fosters a more connected onboard experience, allowing the skipper to remain part of the overall conversation, and delivers excellent visibility forward with the helm right up near the windscreen.

Large sliding doors open the saloon directly onto the cockpit, creating a seamless flow between interior and exterior living spaces.

Despite their different configurations, both yachts share the same underlying philosophy — that space aboard a cruising motor yacht should be practical, comfortable and easy to live with for extended periods. For many owners, the choice between the two models ultimately comes down to lifestyle preferences: the elevated command and additional living space of the flybridge versus the sleek practicality of the sedan.

In a global market where many yachts are designed primarily around styling and marina lifestyles, Maritimo continues to focus on the fundamentals that matter most once the lines are cast off. Offshore capability, dependable engineering, efficient propulsion, and thoughtful liveaboard design remain the foundation of every decision.

Along with refined and dignified luxury, sensational ergonomics, vast spaces everywhere, openness and light from large windows and the atrium stairwell, Maritimo’s M75 and S75 deliver something distinctly different within the international 70-foot segment. Many comment on how different the vessel is from others, and just how easy it is to both use and live on.

These luxury motor yachts are designed not simply to travel quickly between destinations, but to make the journey itself more rewarding. With the range to explore further, the comfort to stay longer, and the reliability to venture confidently offshore, they offer owners the freedom to experience cruising in the way it was always intended.
