INTERNATIONAL DEBUT OF NEW MARITIMO S59 LUXURY SEDAN CRUISER

Leading Australian luxury cruiser manufacturer, Maritimo, has had the international debut of its new S59 luxury sedan cruiser at the recent Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

The S59 is the company’s latest creation and follows hot on the heels of the release of the new M59 cruising motor yacht, which was shown for the first time at the Miami boat show in the USA recently, and has its Australasian launch at Sanctuary Cove.

The S59 is a ‘beamy’ single level, three cabin, two bathroom vessel that will have broad appeal, according to Maritimo.

International Sales and Marketing Manager, Greg Haines, said the S59 fitted a niche market where boaties either had bridges to navigate to reach their home berths or who wanted the functionality and social benefits  of single level skippering.

“With the S59 and the M59 we have provided the market with the best of both worlds and two vessels that tick all the boxes for a large majority of the boat buying public no matter what their boating needs and wants,” he said.

“The S59 is ideally suited to places like the Gold Coast and Mandurah, with many residential areas separated from the bays and open ocean by low bridges. It will also have broad appeal we predict in places like The Great Loop encompassing waterways in the eastern portion of the USA and parts of Canada which are both natural and manmade and involve the use of locks and navigating under bridges. ”

Like its two level sibling the S59 has all the attributes of the Maritimo brand and will be equally at home cruising Sydney Harbour, The Broadwater and Moreton Bay as well as cruising the east coast of Australia, said Haines.

The S59 has a base price tag of $2.05 million and not only has a very wide beam, but also a large opening lazerette similar to that on the company’s larger M64 cruising motor yacht and the smallest yacht the M51.

“The stern of the boat has huge storage space which is perfect for a tender or all the water toys you could want,” he said. “The cockpit is accessed from both sides with openings to the hydraulic swim platform (optional) and because of the boat’s large beam the space is substantial. The 5.36 metre beam on the S59 is wider than on the Maritimo S62.”

Haines said Maritimo’s race proven shaft drive technology reduces fuel consumption and gives the peace of mind of lower maintenance costs and increased longevity of ownership. Like the M59 the vessel has a draft of 1.225 metres (four feet) and a fuel capacity of 4400 litres. Water capacity is 900 litres. The vessel can sleep six people comfortably. Standard engines are twin Volvo D11-725 hp power plants and a Cummins Onan 17.5kw  generator.

“The first of the S59’s is going to be located here on the Gold Coast and we are about to start construction of hull number two,” said Haines. “That vessel is going to be put on display at the Sydney International Boat Show in August.”

He said the S59 featured a full beam master cabin, which is a hallmark of the Maritimo range, a VIP cabin with walk around double bed and a third bunk cabin. “We are confident this single level luxury cruiser will have broad appeal and it certainly complements our flybridge models,” he said.
