BOATMASTERS DOUBLES MARINE SERVICE WORK AT HOPE ISLAND, QUEENSLAND

The latest addition to the Gold Coast marine sector’s service and maintenance facilities, Boatmasters, in John Lund Drive at Hope Harbour, is going from strength to strength with business last month almost doubling from the month before.

Boatmasters was formally launched at the recent Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and the Maritimo travel lift and marina facility is striking a chord with owners of all types of vessels.

Boast

General Manager, Gary Klein said in the month of June more than 54 vessels were lifted and had work undertaken on them at Boatmasters.

“We have had vessels up to 22 metres in length and as small as 8 metres and they have undergone a range of repairs, maintenance and refits,” he said.

“The facility is a hive of activity as the Maritimo Coomera based research and development division has been moved over to Boatmasters and we have also made room for the recently acquired Elandra sports yachts vessels and moulds. “The Maritimo Offshore race team boat is also located here.

“We are not only servicing boats, we have the re-design and the creation of new models here at the site and things are certainly very exciting here at Hope Harbour.”

Klein said the range of services provided at Boatmasters was extensive and all the specialist marine industry suppliers and contractors operating from the facility were of a high standard.

“The thing that many of our customers comment on is the ease of access to our travel lift,” he said. “We have had customers able to get lifted sometimes with only one hours notice. “Our geographical location, just off the southern arm of the Coomera River, and the fact that we have both open hardstand and undercover capacity is a bonus for boaties,” he said. “The travel lift is not tide or wind affected, so this makes it easy for boaties to drive their vessels straight onto the lift and then get hauled out. We had very good feedback at Sanctuary Cove and I think that word is spreading fast about our facility and the services on offer here.”

Maritimo Service and Shipyard Gold Coast

Klein said in the past many boaties had overlooked the facility as they thought it was purely a corporate Maritimo and Maritimo owners centre. “This is changing at a fast pace and the atmosphere here is very upbeat,” he said.

“Boatmasters is open for business for all boaties and we are going from strength to strength,” he said.
