Maritimo Musters – Making Waves Along Australia’s wonderful East Coast

Maritimo Musters – Making Waves Along Australia’s wonderful East Coast: From Moreton Bay to Hamilton Island — Next Stop, Pittwater…

As the sun sets on two unforgettable Maritimo Muster events – Moreton Bay in August and Hamilton Island in September – the iconic Australian luxury motor yacht manufacturer has charted a new, agile course for connecting with its loyal community of owners. This year’s Musters have moved away from the traditional long-haul migrations format in favour of a smarter, more nimble strategy: localised, weekend-long experiences that deliver maximum impact with minimal disruption to busy lives. And the results have been nothing short of spectacular.

Danny Jordin, Maritimo’s Australasian Sales Manager offered, “So part of the team’s new thinking is a number of small, localised events each year. Rather than our owners having to travel big distances to, or throughout an event, the Maritimo team fly in and run a two-or-three-day program,” said Jordin. Its way more manageable for owners and for the team creating the event, which is always very weather dependent. Whilst the vessels are extremely capable in any weather you still want to run an event that’s warm and dry,” Jordin added.

With Moreton Bay kicking off this new wave of owner engagement and Hamilton Island building on the momentum, anticipation is now high for the Pittwater Muster, set to take place from November 21st to 23rd2025.

Moreton Bay Muster: A Local Escape with Laid-Back Luxury

Friday 29 – Sunday 31 August 2025

The first of the revamped Muster series took place in the stunning waters of Moreton Bay, with 17 Maritimo vessels gathering for a weekend of boating camaraderie, relaxed activities, and that unmistakable Maritimo hospitality.

Friday – Sanctuary Cove to Peel Island: Community at Sea

The weekend began at the Maritimo Queensland office in Sanctuary Cove, where owners were greeted with a welcome breakfast cooked by the Maritimo team themselves – burgers off the BBQ, hot coffee, and a vibe of eager anticipation. This informal meet-and-greet wasn’t just about food; it was the first opportunity for new and returning owners to connect.

Led by Captain Jonesy aboard the all-new M50 Flybridge Motor Yacht, the 17-boat convoy cruised to Peel Island’s Horseshoe Bay, where beach gazebos, flight board demos, and champagne awaited. The event struck the perfect balance: organised enough to feel curated, yet flexible enough to adapt to weather and mood.

Stradbroke Island Sundowners: Shuttles, Sips, and Sunsets

Although the original plan was for all vessels to cruise to Straddie Brewing Co, a late-day wind shift saw the Maritimo team pivot to Plan B. Instead of moving the entire fleet, guests were shuttled across via ITAL’s 28-foot rib and the M50 was adopted as a base and with its inflatable tender, created a well-executed back up plan to ferry guests across to Dunwich to disembark.

At Straddie Brewing Co’s rooftop bar, guests were treated to charcuterie, karaage chicken, fresh seafood, and a scenic sunset with 180° views across Moreton Bay – a crowd favourite that set the tone for the weekend.

“The plan worked really well for the guests as we dropped everyone home safely and no one had to worry about driving tenders,” said Jordin. “We created a WhatsApp group for our comms and sent a message to all for a later departure the next morning. It’s all about flexibility,” Jordin added.

Saturday – Canaipa Calm and Fireside Feasts

The next morning saw a delayed departure for a leisurely run to RQYS Canaipa – a secluded, cyclone-safe anchorage known for its lush greenery and open grassy entertaining spaces.

Once anchored, the group gathered on the reserve for a classic Maritimo-style afternoon: fresh prawns, champagne, fireside chats, and casual relaxation. Children toasted marshmallows, owners swapped stories, and the sun dipped behind the trees, casting golden light across the bay.

Sunday – Farewells and Free Cruising

As Sunday rolled around, the official itinerary wrapped up and the connections made ensured many boats continued cruising together. The relaxed format meant guests could depart at their own pace, fully recharged by the local adventure.

“There was just a relaxed calm in the air,” said Jordin. “Everyone just mingled, and it was a fantastic mood.”

Hamilton Island Muster: A Tropical Twist on the Formula

Thursday 25 – Sunday 28 September 2025

Building on the Moreton Bay success, the Hamilton Island Muster took the refined formula north, inviting owners already moored in the Whitsundays for a three-night tropical experience. While traditionally this event would have required a full migration – 1,200 nautical miles from the Gold Coast – the new format focused on those already in the region.

A number of vessels that experienced the Moreton Bay Muster also ventured north to Hamilton Island embracing Maritimo’s ocean going capabilities on a leisurely north bound voyage, to meet the main group. “These owners had so much fun in Moreton Bay they got together and formed a flotilla to head north. That really demonstrated how much they enjoyed the event and the community of it all,” Jordin said.

Thursday Welcome – Beers and Introductions

Held in a laid-back beer garden near the Hamilton Island Marina, Thursday’s welcome drinks introduced the Maritimo Australia team and briefed owners on the weekend ahead. With a selection of champagne and beer provided, the tone was set for an informal, yet expertly organised event.

Friday Cruise – Cape Gloucester Adventure

Friday morning saw the fleet of 23 registered boats, 17 of which made the cruise, head northward a distance of around 22nm to Cape Gloucester. Joined en-route by Airlie Beach-based owners, the group cruised in convoy to this picturesque anchorage. The day was spent swimming, lounging, and socialising off the stern decks, soaking up tropical sunshine.

As evening fell, guests gathered on Cape Gloucester Resort’s beachside lawn for the now-signature Sunset Session: nibbles, prawns, cold drinks, and laughter as the horizon turned orange. It was boating escapism at its finest.

Saturday – Flexibility Wins Again

Originally planned as a cruising day with a stop at Whitehaven Beach, the itinerary flexed to accommodate the AFL grand final, which owners unanimously decided to watch together. The group returned to Hamilton Island for the big game and reconvened later that evening for a stunning three-course dinner at the Yacht Club’s Keel Deck, complete with live music.

“That kind of flexibility is exactly what makes this new format so special. We’re creating experiences that feel spontaneous, while still being professionally curated,” Jordin stated.

Sunday – The NRL Prelim Final and Friendships Forged

Following an overwhelming vote by all attendees the Sunday brought all together again to watch all the action of the NRL preliminary final, at a local pub near the marina. The Maritimo Team organised lots of grazing plates and plenty of drinks for all, the laughs were aplenty and a fair share of heckling was delivered from the attendees, as the Brisbane Broncos and the Penrith Panthers battled it out on screen.

“I’ve never had so many hugs before,” Jordin joked, highlighting the camaraderie that developed throughout the weekend. “These revamped Musters aren’t just about destinations – they’re about connection, flexibility, and showcasing the Maritimo lifestyle. Hosting short, localised weekend events, our team is delivering a winning formula that balances adventure with accessibility,” said Jordin.

“Owners have responded enthusiastically. From first timers to those who have enjoyed many Maritimo events, the consistent feedback is appreciation for the factory support, hospitality and organisation, which is all offered completely free of charge.”

“Whether you’re retired or time-poor with a packed schedule, this format really works,” said Jordin. “In a couple of days, you’ve had a full, rich boating experience.”

These events also provide valuable time to view and experience Maritimo’s latest offerings – like the M50 Flybridge Luxury Motor Yacht, which played a pivotal role in both events, acting as a lead boat, shuttle, and brand ambassador.

Next Muster Round: Pittwater – November 21–23, 2025

With momentum building and the formula fine-tuned, the next stop on the Maritimo Muster calendar is Pittwater, from 21–23 November 2025. Known for its calm waterways, sheltered anchorages, and world-class yacht clubs, Pittwater promises to be another fantastic chapter in this new era of Maritimo events.

Already boasting over 25 registrations, the Pittwater Muster will include a run from Barrenjoey to Dangar Island and then on to Mooney Mooney for an evening function at the club, with barefoot bowls, bevvies and finger food provided. Day 2 will see Cottage Point as the destination, with the famous Cottage Point Inn for an evening function of fun, food and perhaps a few tall stories. As always, the event will be free to attend, fully supported by the Maritimo factory team, and designed to foster connection and exploration.

“It’s the perfect setting to close out the year,” said Jordin. “We’ll have the M50 Flybridge Motor Yacht there, and a great mix of returning and new owners – it’s shaping up to be another brilliant weekend. I believe some northern owners are planning a convoy south for the event, which is also very special and very doable in a Maritimo luxury long range motor yacht,’ said Jordin.

From the glassy waters of Moreton Bay to the tropical bliss of Hamilton Island, and soon the serene beauty of Pittwater, the Maritimo Musters are proving that great boating doesn’t require great distances (unless you want to) – just great people, great planning, and a little bit of sunshine.
