MARITIMO TO FLY THE AUSSIE FLAG IN FORT LAUDERDALE

The upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will see Australia’s luxury cruiser manufacturer, Maritimo, make its presence felt in a big way.

Maritimo will have a large display at Fort Lauderdale with the M51, M54, M64 and M70 cruising motor yachts on show and its dealer partners from the Caribbean, South America, Europe, the Tri -State area and Pacific North West will be attending.

Two of the company’s display boats, the M54 and M64 are already on their way to Fort Lauderdale having arrived in the USA.

Maritimo’s International Sales and Marketing Manager, Greg Haines, said this year would be a big one for the company at Fort Lauderdale:

“We have an entourage of owners and Maritimo followers coming to Fort Lauderdale as a lead up to the World Offshore Power Boat Championships in Key West immediately after and as part of that we are going to run a Maritimo owners muster which we expect will be attended by approximately 50 people,” he said.

“Our lead USA dealer partners, Galati Yacht Sales, have even arranged for all our VIP guests at the World Championships to have their own golf carts to transport themselves between the hotels and the action.

“We have a large number of social events planned as part of the boat show and then for the Maritimo race team supporters at the world championships so there will be a real Aussie flavour to both events.”

Haines said numerous sea trials would be conducted during the boat show so that Maritimo’s international partners, particularly the Europeans, get to experience first hand what the new models have to offer.

He said after a disappointing result in the world championships last year, Maritimo was ‘quietly confident’ in its chances this year.

“The team has been achieving some very impressive speeds in lead up trials and we believe we will be very competitive,” he said. Maritimo won the championships in 2012.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show runs from November 3 to 7 and the world championships are being held between November 6 and 13.

“Our USA based dealer partners are reporting that they have prospective buyers who have a keen interest in the models we are displaying so we expect to achieve strong sales,” said Haines.
