Pål started his partnership with Tom Barry-Cotter in 2007 when they teamed up in "Spirit of Norway 20" boat. Since then Pål has earned the throttleman seat in Maritimo team. In 2008 season he won the Australian Class-1 champion winning four out of six races. With over 145 races under his belt, Pål is one of the most experienced pilots in the Class-1 World Championship.

Outside of racing Pål is the Norwegian Marketing Manager for the German company STIHL.
