Wednesday, 24 March 2010
Bill Barry-Cotter is set to stun the luxury boating market again
with the release of his revolutionary new Offshore Convertible -
complete with internal staircase, an enclosed flybridge and a
three-cabin layout.
The new 440 Offshore Convertible will be launched at the Sydney
International Boat Show this year.

It offers an extraordinary level of space and comfort in a
44-foot convertible cruiser, including a revolutionary aft bulkhead
design featuring bi-fold doors that tuck away to open the saloon
out to the aft cockpit.
This exciting new model offers a vast array of features only
previously seen on much larger boats. These include
- A three-side enclosed flybridge
- Internal teak-tread staircase
- Aft galley
- Bi-fold doors opening the saloon to the cockpit
- Three cabin/two bathroom accommodation
- Volvo Penta IPS propulsion
Adaptable for big game sportfishing, family weekends away or
long-distance cruising, the new Maritimo 440 Offshore Convertible
will comfortable sleep five in three separate cabins.
Powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 600 systems, the 440 Offshore
Convertible has a fully equipped aft galley including four-burner
electric cooktop, convection microwave and standing
refrigerator/freezer built into a space under the flybridge stairs
as well as ample storage.
The spacious saloon, forward offers an L-shape leather lounge to
starboard with an L-shape dinette to port.
Forward, three steps down a central companionway, the
accommodation includes a master stateroom forward with a
walk-around queen double bed and spacious hanging lockers on either
side. An en-suite bathroom is on the port side, equipped with a
separate shower stall with frameless glass door, electric toilet
and a vanity. Fixed portlights in the hull provide plenty of
natural light in this stateroom even when the deck hatch is
sealed.
A double cabin on the port side and single to starboard are
flooded with natural light through large portlights in the hull.
The port cabin has the option of an additional single bunk
athwartships.
These two cabins share the second day bathroom on the starboard
side, forward of the midships cabin.
The enclosed flybridge is reached via an aft-facing teak tread
moulded staircase in the port aft corner of the saloon. It features
an aft helm position so the skipper has great visibility both
forward and aft. A deck immediately behind the helm is a great
viewing platform for game fish action of for simply soaking up the
sun. Seating for guests is forward of the helm.
With a fuel capacity of 2,000 litres, the new Maritimo 440
Offshore Convertible has been designed as an ideal family boat.
