MARITIMO “BOAT OF THE SHOW” AT SANCTUARY COVE
Although the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show was hindered by unusually bad weather, thousands flocked to see the three new World releases on the Maritimo stand.
The new Maritimo 56 Cruising Motoryacht with its sleek styling and new layout drew plenty of admirers and the C50 Sports Cabriolet, described by Maritimo Marketing Director Luke Durman as the “Best value boat at the Show”, also had a constant queue of people trying to get a first-hand look, but it was the gleaming A60 Aegean Enclosed Flybridge that caught the eye of the boating press.
Well-known boating journalist and Editor of Trade-A-Boat Magazine David Lockwood thought it was a stand-out among the hundreds of boats at the Sanctuary Cove Show: “But it’s the Maritimo Aegean 60 Enclosed that is the most innovative Australian-made boat of the show. We returned on numerous occasions and spoke with Mr Maritimo, Bill Barry-Cotter (pictured), who was proud as punch of his new A60E,” said Lockwood on his website www.tradeaboat.com.au
“The flying bridge is a cool all-weather cruising station, the saloon puts many penthouses to shame, the stateroom has great pulling power, but below are the foundations of a fabulously efficient and well-engineered boat.
“When times are tough the tough get going. The Aegean 60 Enclosed is a world-class cruiser designed to invigorate the boating market. The best Aussie boat of the show,” said Lockwood. In all, Maritimo had ten boats at the show which was held from May 21-24.Next show to watch out for is the Sydney International Boat Show (30 July – 3 August) which will see the International debut of the long-awaited Maritimo 73 as well as the A50 Aegean Enclosed. – Geoff Middleton.
